Stupid Subscription

Thank you for your email on 21 January.

All our subscribers will usually receive their 8-Days magazines either on Tuesday or Wednesday of the week due to processing requirements.
However, subscribers do get to enjoy special discounts and gift entitlements which non-subscribers are not entitled to.

Meanwhile, we will look into further improving our services.

What is the main purpose of subscription ?

OR rather, MY main purpose ?

Is to get my magazine read 1st (excluding SPH people of course) before it is out in the market.

Else, why the hell I wanna subscribe ?

I don’t need those special discounts and gifts that you mentioned and you didn’t even state what kind of special discounts and gifts.

Anyway, I am not interested. Moreover, the savings are not that substantial.

Come this March (after my subscripton expiry),  I wouldn’t want to continue my subscription.

Why should I when I can just get it off the shelves on Monday after work instead of waiting till Tuesday evening to get it ?

Meanwhile, I am NOT going to reply that email and just let my subscription lapse.

If they are smart enough, they should know what I mean and really “look into further improving our services”.

Sometimes, I seriously think those in consumer business don’t understand how their consumers think.

Enough whining.

Beautiful Losers

 I was glad that I catch this at the old school with Ling and R. Although it was a pretty messy film (for me), it somehow created certain impressions and impact in me.

My random memories on the film*:

1. …as a child, you are always, drawing, colouring, creating, doing crafts, ….but weird tragedies happen when you become an adult, you “grow up” and lose that; you stop creating, and involves yourself in creating and stuffs…..I was really lucky enough to not really lose that.
2. When people are doing everything else, I feel that I just need to do this ……. (laughs heartily..hahahaaaa)

6. When you see the lines from afar, they look straight but when you get to see them nearer, they aren’t….. you just can’t produce the same thing, they are just different (even if you were to paint them again).

Ok, in high school, they make you read a book, and ask you questions from the book, and you get a grade when you know about the book,….well, I think I can do it on my own, if I can get something to read it and learn it,….there is no one who tell me if that’s a right way or wrong way what to do, I just use and paint it in a certain way, and just came through making certain mistakes and learning through your own way….making sucky paintings….

Management ?

management trainee = management executive = management consultant = management associate = taken for granted post

banker = relationship manager = salesmen =over-rated post

Sometimes, titles are just so deceiving.

To me, a position with some stupid big names without any supervisory role, that is, not over-seeing a department or have anyone under your control is just nothing.

To me, a position with some stupid big names but holding a miserable salary is just pathetic.

So are you some AVP, VP, DPM or you have other bigger names ?

Gentle warmth

Goodbye 2009

1. I learnt that I can be very assertive when the situation calls for. (of course, I got my money back-FINALLY, but no more online shopping with macy’s.)
2. People disappeared after holding their wedding. So can I conclude that weddings would be the last point in life where you get to see most of your friends (who finally got together even when schedules are tight), and say cheers, be merry and then kiss goodbye to all forever (?)
3. Sometimes, ignorance is a bliss.
